HELP - DD First holiday aboard, best tour op for cheap girls holiday this summer?

DD is 18 wants to do a cheap week away in Spain or Greece, prob July.

We've looked at Jet2 and TUI but really expensive - they need something around the £300 mark.

I just thought go with a tour operator so they have a rep there in case anything happens rather than booking travel and acc separately.

Any advice would be great please!

Are they looking at a beach holiday or a city break? I don't find the reps useful at all. If you stay in a hotel, there's a concierge where you can get help.

LIZS · 30/01/2023 10:51

Can they book through easyjet with hotel included. Not sure you get a rep as such but they tend not to be readily available or useful anyway.

hulahoopqueen · 30/01/2023 10:52

Are they looking for all inclusive or are they going to be paying seperately for food?
Frankly, £300 for a week, in what will be very close to summer holiday time, including flights, is a bit unrealistic.
Also, if they're mature enough to be going away for that length of time unsupervised, then they should be doing their own research

Beach, pool holiday so mainland Spain or Greece etc.

Forgot to add, I've used booking.com, hotels.com, expedia and lastminute.com. They all let you book hotel + flight packages I believe. That will mean it's covered by ABTA.

Yankydoodledandy · 30/01/2023 10:54

I think it's whatever comes out cheapest - I cant see them getting up in time for breakfast or wanting to be restricted to meal times but like I say whatever comes out cheapest.

I think they’ll struggle at that price point - everything is extortionate in the summer (presumably school holiday?) months. £300 each for flights and a week’s accommodation is asking a lot.

I’ve previously used Expedia for packages, but honestly nowadays pretty much always just book flights directly through the airline or Skyscanner and then accommodation with lots of good reviews through AirB&B or Last Minute and have never had a problem.

SnowAndFrostOutside · 30/01/2023 10:56

If it's beach, then decide if they want to be all inclusive, half-board or self catering. Then look at the various websites mentioned here and book a flight + hotel package. Then you can see how much you need.

UPDATE
so here is the criteria - they are all looking by the way Im just helping as first time abroad etc.

Before Schools hols so from 1st July
Prob mainland Spain, Greece etc.
Preferably 7 nights but 5, 6 an option
Beach/pool/lots of bars etc.
Boardwise - cheapest option

Look on easyJet holidays. They have a couple in turkey coming up at under 400 pp. Bulgaria is often another cheap option.

Darthwazette · 30/01/2023 11:11

The reps on my all girls holiday at 18 were far from useful, they just wanted to sleep with as many guests as possible

FrenchandSaunders · 30/01/2023 11:11

Look at LoveHolidays

titchy · 30/01/2023 11:12

On the beach is often cheap. Where are they flying from. It'll need to be somewhere EasyJet or Ryanair fly from if they want to keep costs down.

HandbagsnGladrags · 30/01/2023 11:19

There's really no such thing as a cheap holiday any more. What you're looking for doesn't exist.

titchy · 30/01/2023 12:16

I've found Ryanair flights to Palma de Mallorca from Stansted 4-11 July for £80, and hostel accommodation at £210 pp (or hotel at £300pp). It's a short and easy bus ride from the airport to town centre. Would that work?

Yankydoodledandy · 31/01/2023 15:58

Thanks for the replies will look at all and yours too@titchy

Where will they need to fly from

Zola1 · 31/01/2023 16:13

Try on the beach...Benidorm looks most likely to be the only place in budget for the criteria. Flights to Greece are expensive now!

Yankydoodledandy · 31/01/2023 16:15

Most airports - London, Standstead, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds

OP posts:
Cas112 · 31/01/2023 16:17

Have a look at love holidays

Fellsbluemist · 31/01/2023 16:23

Can they go away in June. problem is it's only before English school hols - NI and Scotland and also lots of Europe will already be on holiday so accommodation is already peak.

Yankydoodledandy · 31/01/2023 16:23

Can go from last week June actually so from 26th June

MaverickGooseGoose · 31/01/2023 18:21

£300 is a tiny budget, they're going to struggle.
