Is this some kind of scam?

I have just posted a treadmill for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

Within minutes of me doing so I had someone message me enquiring about it. I said that it was available. He then replied with:-

Ok I take but I would like to come tomorrow but I am currently busy with work, I will send a Budbee postman to your home to give you your money in cash and collect the item

I have never heard of a ‘Budbee postman’!

I have checked out his profile and it says he lives in Poland which is strange as I only posted the item on all of the local selling pages but maybe it went on the general Marketplace postings too?

I haven’t replied to him yet but already he is bombarding me with question marks.

I will continue to ignore as I’m not sure about it. The treadmill is up for a standard price so not super low or anything so not sure why he is so desperate for it.

Would you see this as a scam?

Yes - just block him

It's well known scam. Block and ignore

Yes. Scam. Usually with a courier involved. I'm think they then ask you to pay some sort of insurance. I would just say collect in person only and block.

Generally speaking, anyone sending a courier is scamming you. Before the courier arrives, the 'buyer' will call you to say they have forgotten to pay insurance to safeguard the delivery to them. They'll ask you to pay it for them and provide you with details. Then either you will call a fake number and hand over your bank details, and/or you will be charged for fake insurance and the courier will never turn up. We always take payment in advance and it has to have cleared or cash only. Many FB pages now state 'no couriers'

I have just added collection only and no courier collection.
