JC is clever unfortunately. I used to enjoy the fact that he wasn’t politically correct but now he reminds me of Boris Johnson in the way he “oh so carelessly” makes a mistake but it’s all carefully calculated in reality for what I can only assume is self promotion.

He has ALWAYS been like this, but because boneheaded men find he and his chauvinist humour entertaining and if brought in the viewing numbers, its been allowed to slide for far too long. It was exacerbated when he lost his position on Top Gear, and Amazon created The Grand Tour. He thinks he's untouchable, because he has been for FAR too long.

Yes all of these incidences of racism and misogyny are vile and completely indefensible.

I actually enjoyed his farming series, thought maybe he had reformed and was sympathising with ordinary people in his old age, but thinking about it the farming world can be quite racist and misogynistic too.

Then came the MM article and that was the last straw for me. He obviously doesn’t mean it when he apologises, as he just does something else that’s worse.

If he is that brave and outspoken, why doesn’t he just admit that he saying what he genuinely feels, rather than hiding behind a series of weak excuses and insincere apologies?

And yes discobrain imagine if a female presenter said the same things? They would be immediately hounded out of their job. He’s lasted so long because he is part of a club of men who secretly agree with him.
