What are good areas to shop in Oxford please, for general high street type shops. Is west gate accessible from the station?

There aren't any. The shopping in Oxford is bloody terrible. I'd look to go to Milton Keynes but then I live in Oxford so I guess you always think somewhere else is better 👍

Definitely don’t bother. Shops are shutting one after the other here. Second the vote for Milton Keynes- great shopping centre. Reading is supposed to be good but haven’t been for years so couldn’t confirm.

I think Oxford is good for shopping personally. The Westgate has lots of shops and the other shopping streets are very close by. It is less than 10 minutes walk from Oxford Station.

It was good the last time I was there but that was nearly 10 years ago! 🤣 also wrong side of the county for me. Milton Keynes is quick and easy 👍

I like Oxford, much better than Sussex coast where I live! I think it’s because we only visit occasionally, never get a chance to get bored🤣

In Westgate there is a John Lewis, Uniqlo and Primark, none of which are anywhere near me at home. I like the indoor market too.

Oxford is much better than Reading for women's clothes imho. Westgate centre is good, then there are shops like toast, Anthropologie not far away. It's a short walk from the station.
