The pakora bar on Holyrood Road is well worth a visit, we were there last week and couldn't fault it.

Oh I’m so sad to hear that about Ocean Terminal! We used to stay at the hotel that was beside it (Holiday inn possibly?) when the kids were small. Haven’t been for years but have lovely memories of eating and shopping there - dd’s first build a bear, a ukulele and much loved Paddington books were all bought there (long time ago!).

That hotel is still there and the build a bear thing is not in the shopping centre itself. It’s the mall, as it were, that is now pretty much empty, but there is a cinemas, Boots, Waterstones, a few other shops and a bunch of restaurants. It feels a bit abandoned though.

Quinn's Cafe in West Port. Best Scottish breakfast I had during my trip there.

Divino Enoteca is lovely.
Bonnie and Wild is nice if you are shopping
Down the Hatch do amazing skillet breakfasts.
These are all very central if you are staying centrally
