Stress and work

Would you quit your job if it was causing enough stress to make you ill? Would you quit first then look for another or try and find another first??

@Tootsey11 it depends what’s causing you the stress, is it the work or the workload itself or someone or people in particular?

Look for a job whilst continuing to work, and if you are feeling low, reach out to your GP and self certify to take some time off.

@Rachel013 it's the workload in some cases. And multiple health issues and menopause which the work is making worse. I am someone who needs to keep busy, but unfortunately the work is at the extreme end of that. I work for myself which means I just can't take time off.

Thank you for the reply.

Tbink the old adage is it's easier to find a job when you already have one. Have a good think about what you want. Is it the same type of work but less hours? If so is that a possibility in your existing job? If not look elsewhere. Perhaps a complete chsnge of job seems attractive? I gave dropped a day at work,am menopausal, going through bereavement of a partner and find doing 4 days makes things a bit more manageable. Good luck.

No job ( or the material things you think you need to work for) is worth making yourself ill for.
