Painful Crush

A few years ago I had to deliver a talk at a university and since then have had an immense crush on the head lecturer who invited me in. I cant get him out of my head. He is perfect to me with his lovely curly hair and smile. I'm finding it hard to deal with the fact that I'm not likely to see him again as he changed universities. I have his number and I am wondering whether to just tell him how I feel. I hope I do see him.

Have you ever heard of limerence, OP? It's a very distressing focus on someone who is unobtainable and is thought to be caused by low self-esteem. Have a look for limerence cures. Apparently the answer lies in going no-contact and rebuilding a more purposeful life for yourself. All of which is easier said than done, of course. And don't contact him. (Although strangely enough, a rejection will hurt but will also stop you spinning fantasies about him and help you to move on. But it will be very painful and embarrassing in the short term).
