I’ve had Kylie’s “I Should Be so Lucky” in my head for 7 solid days.

It’s been ghastly 🙂 I’ll still watch tonight’s thing because it’s quite interesting, but can anyone get rid of an ear worm once it settles in? I get unwanted ear worms for weeks sometimes. All day. All night.

Still watching it though 🙂

Oh
christ
We Don’t Talk About Bruno …?

OH NO! 😳

I had surface pressure in my head for weeks.

But I was listening to the hard rock version which is just awesome

I’ve got a playlist called Earworms. You can usually get one out by putting another one in. For me it’s How far I’ll Go from Moana quite a lot. Can be displaced with a bit of the Killers - usually Spaceman.

Can't you get it out of your head?

😂😂😂

Like a Rhinestone cowboy 🎶

Sorry, not sorry

I’ve been dealing with the Jet2 song off and on for a few weeks now. Doesn’t help that the advert is on regularly.

This isn’t the first time. I went on a Jet2 holiday a few years ago and kept breaking into song while we were away and for a few weeks after. DP not happy but I didn’t realise I was doing it most of the time.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 28/01/2023 23:01

I've got Louisa's song from Encanto, only I don't know all the words so just the tune, the chorus and the odd line here and there

Pressure like a grip, grip, grip, and it won’t let go, whoa
Pressure like a tick, tick, tick, ’til it’s ready to blow, whoa-oh-oh
Give it to your sister, your sister’s stronger
See if she can hang on a little longer
Who am I if I can’t carry it all?

SnowyGiveAway · 28/01/2023 23:07

I've fallen asleep with the family madrigal (madrigal!) relentlessly playing in my head and woken up in the middle of the night thinking I could hear it. I was worried I was actually losing my mind. What makes it worse is I don't really know the words so it just sort of loops...

LindorDoubleChoc · 28/01/2023 23:07

These drive me absolutely mad! Sympathies op. I don't have thoughts or worries whirring round my head usually - just a random line or two of music and it can go on for days.

The only "cure" I know is to listen to music that I do actually like and know quite well. With the result that an annoying ear worm is replaced with a slightly less annoying one! 😬

XenoBitch · 28/01/2023 23:08

I once read that the best way to get rid of an ear worm is to find the song and listen to the whole thing. Your brain tends to just play only a small part over and over, and listening the the whole song can break the cycle.

SnowyGiveAway · 28/01/2023 23:08

@FatAgainItsLettuceTime I get it 😞

faffadoodledo · 28/01/2023 23:12

You're all making me feel much better about mine: McAlmont and Butler 'Yes'.
Life could be worse - you poor sods, some of you!

Well, you have just passed that one on to me!
Fab song though.

CleanseUsAcidRain · 28/01/2023 23:33

Ladies, I have a cure for this!
If you sing J Lo's 'Jenny from the block' in your head for a short while it kills all ear worms dead. Doesn't replace it, just cancels it out. Its probably the most helpful piece of advice I've ever received and it has never not worked for me! Hope it works for you guys too :)

Jet2 advert song on repeat here I think it's Jess Glynn
