How long did you cat with heart disease live for?

My 9 month old cat might have heart disease. He’s going for a scan on Monday after finding a grade 4/5 murmur.

I’m upset.

How long did your cat live with heart disease?

I don’t know anything about heart murmur grades but mine lived to 18.I can’t remember how old when the murmur was diagnosed but fairly young. , never went to a vet again except for vaccinations.

My boy loved until 9. But it wasn't known about his heart until he was around 5

Mine lived until she was 10, though she died about 2 months after diagnosis. I can’t quite remember what exactly was wrong but her heart would literally stop for a bit at that point and she was put on beta blockers.

Thank you for replying. Did the vet find a heart murmur? Had she been ok before she was diagnosed ?

Awwww don’t worry too much. I was told that mine had a heart murmur when he was about 8 yrs old but it didn’t need a y action. Then at 11yrs old they said is congestive heart failure but here are some meds that may help. Then at 13 they suggested euthanasia but said a higher dose of meds might work.

He’s nearly 15 and still happy 🤷‍♀️

Was yours diagnosed with anything? Mines just been diagnosed with HCM and a hole in his heart.
