Since when do McDonald's call mayonnaise 'sandwich sauce'?

Ordered DS1 mcds and he got a couple of regular saver menu hamburgers, on the extras it said 'sandwich sauce' which he assumed to be the stuff the put on big macs?

They arrived slathered in mayo and the label says

sansauc(mayo)

Why not just write mayo on the menu?

He hates mayo so is in the kitchen washing his burgers 😂😂😂

It probably doesn’t have enough egg content to be allowed to be called mayonnaise.

It must be the sauce from the McChicken sandwich.. I think that’s the only “sandwich” on the menu.

Maybe it’s sort of mayonnaise-flavoured but they can’t call it mayonnaise because it doesn’t have egg/oil/vinegar/whatever in it?

Or is it meant to be salad cream (as in like Heinz Salad Cream)

The stuff they put on Big Macs is basically a very weak mustard.

And its their mayo. I tasted it.

The sandwich sauce is on the McChicken sandwich and in my opinion tastes different from the mayo which they use on the mayo chicken.

McDonald's used to have cool mayo that went on other sandwiches so the chicken sarnie sauce (which is different) is called sandwich sauce.

Ohhh, I always thought the stuff on the chicken sandwich was just mayo.
