LAMDA Grade Six

DD is doing her grade 5 LAMDA acting next week. She’s 13 (year eight), and has done LAMDA since she was little, moving through the grades.

She says her teacher has mentioned having a break before doing grade six. Is this standard, is there quite a step up between grades five and six?

Happy to be guided by the teacher, but just wondered why this might be.

Hi! Levels 6,7 and 8 are equivalent to AS and A-levels, so perhaps the teacher things it would be good for your daughter to broaden her repertoire and experience as she has plenty of time to do those three grades.

DD1 is year 10 and taking grade 6 next month. She's only been doing it since year 7 with the obvious break for Covid.

My son is 14 and did his grade 6 acting last year at 13 in yr8. He's now taking it slowly for grade 7 as his teacher says 14 is fairly early to be doing grade 7. I think the material becomes less appropriate for them.

This all makes sense, thank you, and good to know.
