270 staff made redundant

2500 people expected to fly today

75,000 had forward bookings

No refunds from the airline

These things happen unfortunately. In terms of money back this is why it's imperative to have travel insurance and/or pay on a credit card. Hopefully most people can recoup their money.

Feel really sad bout this, first for the staff obvs but also because I used to take the East Mids to Schiphol double prop plane all the time.

In case it helps anyone…..LNER trains are offering free travel today and tomorrow for anyone with flights who are now stranded.
