Booked this for DH's birthday. It is an experience day. I have booked it for us both. Neither of us have done it before- is it worth it/ does it play your ears up? I have painful ears on an airplane when descending so I'm wondering if it's the same with this!

I think you get taught to equalise. I hope you chose someone with all the correct training etc.

@PeachDelany thanks- I've booked the bear grylls adventure. Very good reviews and apparently very trained staff.

Is it a pool session?

You do feel a bit of pressure, you need to equalise. Hold your nose and blow gently or wiggle your jaw sometimes works.

Reality is majority of the colour and life is in the first ten metres and on a one day thing you won’t go any deeper. They will do a training session in a pool probably then 2-3 half hour dives, once you are down you will be fine. Have fun!

@drpet49 no not pool- it is an aquarium, well it's a large tank

in another lifetime pre children, 21 years ago 😩 I taught scuba in Australia. You will be shown many tricks to equalise your ears but I guess in a pool you won’t be that far down for any sort of real issues with your ears. Have a great time, I caught the bug on my first dive, be warned it’s an expensive past time!

@2Old2BABPpresenter thank you!! What a life. Sounds amazing. I am so excited. But nervous about ears. I think it's pretty deep considering, it's a tank with sharks Blush

No worries 😉 it was amazing and like I said it was a different lifetime 😩 you’re doing what is basically a pleasure dive so they’re not gonna have you getting involved in safety stops or anything so you’ll be fine, enjoy!

@2Old2BABPpresenter thanks! We get a safety briefing however like you said it's pretty much pleasure only, I think 10 year olds can do it so I am not expecting it to be too hard work!!
