Is there a limit for what you'd do for your DC?

I would let someone put a bullet to my head for DC.

But H was talking about how he would go to 'the further' for DC and I said I wouldn't! Too scary, endless jump scares

Is there a limit to what you'd do for your DC?

I must be missing something?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 27/01/2023 18:39

What's the further?

He’d go where, now?

fairysimples · 27/01/2023 18:42

It's specific to a circumstance I think.

I'd kill for them in a life or death kill or be killed. But I wouldn't commit or cover up a murder.

I'd give my life up in heartbeat for any of them and not even think twice.

7Worfs · 27/01/2023 18:42

Do you mean kill someone for your DC?

If it’s self-defence, yes. I would think most parents are capable of it.

PuttingDownRoots · 27/01/2023 18:47

I would physically defend my children with all that I have.

I wouldn't bungee jump for them.

I'm currently watching from the sidelines of the rugby pitch on a dark freezing evening. Definitely a selfless act.

riotlady · 27/01/2023 18:51

Depends what you mean by “for” them. I’d do literally anything to prevent them dying, for example, but I wouldn’t go into debt to take them on holiday

Ilovelurchers · 27/01/2023 18:52

I too would go to the further.

Ooo you're brave. I just couldn't do it Sad feel terrible! H says I'm a terrible mum if I wouldn't and he is only half joking

Whilst the further looks absolutely bloody terrifying (I’ve just googled it!) I’d absolutely go there if I had to to get my babies back safe and sound. Or send DH if he could go, he’d fare much better than I 😂 other than that, I’d give my life for theirs, take someone else’s life if it was theirs or my kids, the usual stuff.

fairysimples · 27/01/2023 19:03

What is go to the further? I've googled but I'm only getting going further

It's like a different universe that's mirroring ours. It's from the insidious series

I love those films and knew what you meant haha. Yes I would go to the further.

Ilovelurchers · 27/01/2023 18:52

I too would go to the further.

Had to read up on what it was, but yes. I would go to The Further if it meant my child didn't have to.

Mossstitch · 27/01/2023 19:12

When your young and in love you say 'I'd die for them'......... When you have children the love is on a different level 'I'd kill to protect them'......... And I'm a pacifist😂

siroodlesofnoodles · 27/01/2023 19:19

I would do anything for my children if it was to save them from dying.

Including the Further.

I wouldn't murder someone they asked me to or anything crazy like that, but kill or have them killed? No bother. 💅🏽

Snugglemonkey · 27/01/2023 19:26

I would go to the further. The killing someone would depend on the circumstances, but if it was to save my child's life, I would not hesitate. I would never cover up crimes like sexual offences or murder for them. They have to face their own consequences.

I once read a book in which a woman's baby was kidnapped and she had to kill 5 people to get her back. She could hear her baby being hurt. I read it pre being a parent and seriously thought noone would do that, but actually, those people would be fucked if someone was hurting my baby.

DarkShade · 27/01/2023 19:45

Yes I absolutely would to protect or save him, I would do anything. I wouldn't go to the further if it meant he could go on holiday or something trivial like that.
