Messed up passport renewal - what now?

Oh Lordy.

I sent my kid’s paper passport renewal form off all smug to have got the task done and I’ve just found the payment form that I’ve forgotten to include in the envelope. 🤦‍♀️

Anyone know what happens now? Will they contact me to send on the payment to add to the form or will the whole application be rejected and sent back to me?

I’m worried it’s going to be lost in a dark corner of the passport office forever more!

I knew I should have done it online but it needed countersigning and i felt it was easier to just put everything in an envelope.

No help but i renewed mine via the post office last week with hideous photos.

I got home to find my nice pictures, with freshly coloured and cut hair, make up etc still on my pinboard so I'm going to look dreadful for the next 10 years 😡

I look like a completely different person in my recent passport; it’s shocking!!

Do the paper forms have tracking numbers? You might be able to ring the helpline and ask for advice?

I did this they email you for the payment

Then you pay it online

The paper form does have a barcode number on it, but I didn’t take note of it. 😬

I'd still phone them, chase, to be proactive, rather than just leave it.

When I did this it was for a renewal 3 years ago I went on the live help and they told me not to worry they would email me with a payment link

If I don’t hear from them next week, I’ll get in touch, but I now don’t have the barcode number on my form or my old passport number to find my application as they were all in the envelope!
