Has anyone had melanoma?

I had an iffy mole removed about 2 weeks ago after annoying my dr for months.

I thought it would come back as a wart or another over reaction on my part but actually it was a stage 2 melanoma so I need a bigger operation and a node clearance.

I feel really really overwhelmed

Hi both of you. How are you both doing?
I had a mole removed from my calf recently and yesterday results came back as stage 1b melonoma. I am now shitting myself. Cancer is always something that happens to other people. You never expect it to happen to you.
I have an appointment in 2 days to have my bloods taken, wide, full body scan/exam and I will also push for the immediate removal of a few other moles and their biopsies. Doc said we also need to discuss the sentinel lymph node biopsy.

Hi @bfc1980 sorry to hear of your diagnosis and anxiety.
For what it's worth, stage 1b is a 'good' stage to be at!
If you have the SLNB and it comes back positive then you will be re staged at 3+ but please don't panic, the prognosis at stage 3 is good and there is treatment available.
I'm currently stage 3a and about to start meds for a year and feeling pretty positive (it's a ball ache yes but I don't think I'm going to die any time soon)
