Question for anyone with DC on Elvanse ADHD medication

Can it be skipped at weekends? Can’t get hold of paediatrician’s office. DS has just changed from another medication and I realised we’re not clear on this

Not used elvanse by choice but my son has under various methylphenidate based drugs for 9 years and we have had "days off".... It's been difficult at times but he's liked feeling "normal". I've known many children/parents have weekend breaks from meds but it's about how you manage the days. If you feel your child need to take their medication you can get a three day script via 111

My DS is on Elvanse and he doesn’t take it at the weekend

Dc8 here. None at the weekend by agreement and negotiation. Weekend is absolute chaos as a result. Also none on holiday except the traveling there and back when we insist or the journey would be hell on earth.

Thanks so much everyone. Good to know he has a choice. (I would like to choose a weekend at a spa hotel on my own, but there we go 🤣)
