What are your WhatsApp privacy settings?

Just out of interest really… I’ve noticed a lot of people don’t have last seen on!

I was even chatting to one guy from a dating app and he didn’t have read receipts or last seen online, and you also couldn’t see when he was online too. So could only see when he was typing!

I have everything turned on: last seen and blue ticks.

I have my read receipts turned on but only because If I turned them off, I wouldn’t know if someone has read my messages.

I used to have my last seen switched on but it is now switched off.

I don’t think you can switch your online status off? You can turn your last seen off, but when you are online, it will still show you are online.

My settings have a toggle for “last seen and online” so it’s both or neither. I have mine toggled off so no one can see my last seen or the fact I’m online

I want to turn my last seen status off but my best mate would:

  1. Read into that a lot more then needed and it could cause an argument.
  1. Would get the arse with me (she couldn't check up on me, I'm Sure she does check up and not just on me). I can't explain it, she would get arsey and find it suspicious. Even though it isn't

I feel pressured into opening people’s messages and replying if they can see I’m online or when I was last online.

I don’t always want to reply to people’s messages right away. Sometimes it will take me hours or days to reply to messages if they aren’t urgent and if people can’t see when I was last online, then it reduces the pressure.

I don’t know how my mind works tbh. I have my WhatsApp last seen off but I don’t mind that my Facebook last seen is switched on.

I know! Same 😂 But my excuse is if someone says "why haven't you looked at my message when your last seen is so and so" is because I could be browsing fb and that will show my last seen. I just say not checked my messages.

So...it is just showing when your phone was connected to the internet?

I much prefer texts but a couple of people who help mum want me to use Whatsapp, so that's the only reason I have it.

Everything it's possible to have made invisible is, no profile picture that includes my image either - Same with all other social media.
