Should I phone again?

I’m off work sick. Yesterday was the last day I could self-cert. Phoned GP last week and they said it was ‘illegal’ 🙄 to post date a sick note but they had booked me in for a telephone consultation today. Im
still waiting, rang 45 minutes ago and told I was on the GP list with 2 people in front of me.

I’m off with stress and anxiety and this really isn’t helping! If I can’t provide a sick note today I’ll get my pay docked, be marked AWOL and subject to discipline procedures. I know they’re busy but should I call again?

No. If you are on the list they will call you but I do know how stressful it is.
Work will accept the sick note if dated today, even if they don’t get it until next week.
My surgery text the sick note. You could then forward it on to work via email, text or print it out to send in.

They rang as I was typing my reply!

I have to collect it but I’ve emailed my manager and the rostering team. Im
never usually off so hopefully they’ll understand.

And for future reference.
Had your gp not called you could still call in sick tomorrow and gp can backdate a certificate to that date. I had it many times. Sometimes 4 or 5 days late
