  1. At the heart of the Ancient Egyptian Empire
  2. Discharged
  3. Basin
Tulipvase · 26/01/2023 16:31

I agree with heart, discharged and basin. Do they want sacred for excited? I just can’t see another word that it could be.

Assume there is no further text?

GideonSmideon · 26/01/2023 16:34

No that's All the text there is

Discharged is also the answer to question 2 - one of the two we managed. - what word means the same as released?

Thank you for the help

Could steep be mountain?

evtheria · 26/01/2023 16:54
  1. source
  2. discharged
  3. such as
  4. basin

I really can't think what's 'excited' or 'steep', if they're asking for synonyms. Feeling quite dumb now!

evtheria · 26/01/2023 17:07

DS has had a go and he says:

  1. area
  2. flooding
  3. as
  4. sacred
  5. basin
  6. ??
emmathedilemma · 26/01/2023 17:14

I've got a hydrology qualification and I can't do this 😂

QueenMabs · 26/01/2023 17:35

Honestly I think this is ridiculous
Am I mistake but are any of these synonyms?

Could 'vital' be synonymous with excited?

Mountain isn't a synonym of steep but it is synonymous with it.

It's a while (35 years) since I was in a year three class room though appreciate times have changed!

Basin is a not a synonym for floor but the sentence implies the river basin is the floor.

emmathedilemma · 26/01/2023 17:40

River bed would be synonymous with floor but a river basin refers to the whole drainage catchment of a river so I’d say that’s tenuous at best.

Butteredtoast55 · 26/01/2023 18:44

This is a very strange text and question combination. I don't think the words that are suggested are synonyms as such. Is this from a published scheme or has someone written it and it's offered/autocorrected exited (discharged) to excited? I'm at a loss for steep!

WestendVBroadway · 26/01/2023 18:52

Sorry, am I missing something obvious? Apart from question 3 which specifies that you need to refer to the tex to find a synonym, why are we assuming that the other synonyms need to be found in the source?

WestendVBroadway · 26/01/2023 18:52

^^ Text, not tex!

I wondered this too, but then assumed I was underestimating it (ie requiring every single question to repeat 'search the text'). Maybe it is actually that simple!

JustAnotherManicNameChange · 26/01/2023 21:04

3.area
4.
5.such/such as
6.
7.river basin

Not much help Grin

Yes! Thank you :) it's so confusing for a 7 year old let alone me!

Ok, I know this is probably very nerdy of me but I have to know if you ever found out what the answers were, OP!
