How come you don't get hiccups in your sleep?

If you are a sleep you wouldn't know if you do or not.

If they were anything like the hiccups I get during the day they certainly would!

Anyway, the rest of my household delight in telling me if I've been talking in my sleep, or snoring, so I'm sure sleep-hiccups would give them great entertainment.
