Feel like I'm back in school with a stupid crush!

I'm 31 and should be beyond having crushes like this! I came out of a serious relationship during the pandemic and dated one guy casually but since then not much...

Anyway I have a hobby and one night Iast month noticed a guy and just thought 'Woah'. I'd seen photos of him online before with no effect but seeing him in person was different. Then I noticed he kept looking at me and vice versa.

Now it turns out we have a close mutual friend. Tonight we both went to the same event and we're standing really close, I spoke to him briefly and complimented a skill shall we say in the hobby and he smiled but then we both went back to chatting to friends and that was it. Later he walked past when I was with a woman friend and he looked at the floor when I was ready to give him a big smile.

I get the feeling he is shy romantically and don't want to push it. But through our mutual friends I know he is single and supposedly a stand up guy and he looks at me a lor. Am I right in thinking I've put out all the right cues or am I not flirting hard enough? 😬

Im struggling to even get to know him as it stands. Given he's often looking at me and touching up his hair when I stand next to him (I'll take what I can get) I get the feeling he is attracted. But he seems to be struggling with the actual talking to me part?

I've complimented him and smiled. I feel like it's up to him to reciprocate now, am I right? I'll see him at this hobby thing every so often so maybe it will work out - he's befriended a few of my male friends now, so I suppose I'm hoping one day it will all come together somehow!
