EMR tv ad, can someone tell me....

What in the holy hell is that purple thing with the poorly legs on the EMR railway ad? Is it supposed to be a cushion?
I also cannot abide the song Proud Mary, so as soon as I see Mr Purple on the screen I switch off!

Oh he has a name. I will have to Google it because I can't remember. Here he is at Kettering railway station...

I liked his little seated dance moves I'm the previous ad. It was sort of an exaggerated upper twist.

I don't mind it, as advert things go. Less annoying than that fucking carrot at Christmas.
