Need something for stress and general well-being

Only once and I found it excruciatingly painful, just like someone prodding the sole of my feet with a sharp pencil.
Never again!

It was just like having a foot massage - nothing that special to be honest!
Have you tried anything else?

What about an aromatherapy treatment or hot stones or a neck and back massage? Reflexology can be very effective for physical conditions but for general stress one of the other treatments might be a better choice, reflexology can be a bit much if you're not used to it. Ask your therapist for their recommendations as well.

Yes, several times at several different places. It should feel like a pleasant foot massage. The person upthread who said it hurt must have had a very bad reflexologist!

My doctor said there’s a lot of science behind how the nerves in the foot connect to the rest of the nervous system, and that stimulating them can help depending on what your issue is.

I had it several times about 15 years ago. It was wonderful, slightly uncomfortable at time, but overall very relaxing. I definitely felt better after each session.
I would have continued with them but the lady moved towards working with hospice patients.
I tried it elsewhere but it was basically just a foot massage.

Really? Did this doctor have any peer reviewed research to back that up?

Because I've never found anything more stubstantial than the generalised feelgood effect of many massage or relaxation treatments.

Same and I was shocked because I was really expecting to enjoy it.

Me too, totally shocked despite going to a highly recommended and experienced practitioner.

Yes, I had a course of reflexology as a favour to the practitioner who was using me as one of her case studies. I suffered from PCOS and wanted help with my menstrual cycle.

Shortly afterwards, I became pregnant. I was 43 and apart from a miscarriage in my early 20's, it was totally unexpected but worked out perfectly. 😊

I love reflexology! I nearly always fall asleep.
