Difficult to say without knowing what type of ache, what type of massage etc. But personally I feel hard done by if I don't leave a massage feeling bruised, I like a really strong massage to get rid of the tension... If it feels like muscle pain rather than tenderness (like a bruise feeling) then I'd be worried

Well it’s only my back aching well and my neck a bit too 😰

But - what sort of aching? So tender / bruised - suggests they got into the knots & aching is to be expected; but aching like, hurts to move / sharp or shooting pain, not a good sign... And if you had a sports massage I'd expect to ache, but a gentle relaxing massage, I really wouldn't. Are you worried about it?

Have you had a massage before? If so, did it feel like it normally does?
I expect my back/neck/shoulders to ache after a massage as I like firm pressure and I feel like it’s a waste if they don’t work the knots out, which can feel uncomfortable for a few days afterwards.
