Where could we meet for lunch in or around London? Various criteria, suggestions most welcome!

I'm meeting a friend for lunch in a while, she will be coming from Wimbledon and I'll be coming in from Marylebone or Kings x or I could drive, I live in Oxfordshire so it's just over an hour to the outskirts of London.

Ideally we'll eat somewhere nice and then move to sofas for coffee. We don't want to be kicked out though as we usually talk for hours.

Is there a hotel or gastro pub that fits the bill? I've looked at The Landmark but they don't do lunch on a Saturday. We don't want anywhere stuffy or formal or with tables too close together.

I'm happy to drive and not drink but if I do that I will need to be able to park and it'll probably need to be west London.

Budget can be around £100+ a head so that's not an issue. I am quite fussy and want somewhere nice, any suggestions most welcome. Thank you 🙂

You could try the Great Northern Hotel at King's Cross - has bar, restaurant and lounges, so fits the requirement.

It might be a bit bland for what you're after, but could be the safe fall-back if no-one can come up with anything better!

Eataly is fantastic. Right next to Liverpool Street Station. Google it. Lots of places to eat there.

Yes those places in King's Cross station are really lovely - as recommended above. Lots of options if you need to move for your post meal chat.

I haven't been here so can't comment on whether the food is any good, but I did read about it and kept it in mind for when I'm next in London - it has a bar, lunch menu, lots of sofas to lounge on so could fit the bill. Near Kings Cross station.
