What was this late 80s/90s book? About time travel and an abyssinian cat?!

Am trying to remember a book I loved as a tween in the possible early 90s..
Vague recollection about there being an Abyssinian (very relevant!) cat, and something to do with time travel?
Have tried a Google search but nothing!

Was the main character a girl that put on a fur coat? I loved a book like this but I cannot remember what it was called! She travelled in time I'm sure of it. Can't remember a cat though.

Was it The Time Traveling Cat by Julia Jarman? The cat would randomly turn into a statue when it disappeared to Ancient Egypt/ Elizabethan England

That's the one I was thinking of too - main character called Christopher but shortened it to Topher.
