If you click on someone who you are not following but used to snog when you were at university's profile on Instagram. Then look at some of their pictures and accidentally click the heart on one swear out loud but then really quickly unlike it. Super fast, like one second. Will it notify him? Asking for a friend. please say it won't fml

I've no idea but I'd like to know the answer to this as I've done it too.

xPissflapsx · 23/01/2023 21:05

I get likes and never check who actually liked the pictures.
So hopefully they won't check either......
Does it really matter though?

Effortlesslyaverage · 23/01/2023 21:38

It doesn't really matter, I'd really rather not give him the ego boost of thinking I'm looking through his photos and pining after him though.

Hope not because I have done it to my ex's new GF. Pretty confident that they don't know about it.

TenThousandSpoons · 23/01/2023 22:59

I think it might, because I accidentally did it on my sister’s pic, and she asked me if I had done it in a panic. But I had liked, unliked, liked, unliked, liked.

I’d like to know if Instagram tells someone if someone screen shots one of their “reels”, if anyone knows this.

TheChosenTwo · 23/01/2023 23:00

I’ve had notifications from people that haven’t shown up on the list of likers
so I’d say yes!

JillBidensShoes · 23/01/2023 23:02

Yes it does and if the account is on a business setting then they can see who has looked at the posts as well. Quickly change your username and set your account to private!

whizzpopping · 23/01/2023 23:05

I don't know for sure but someone (a friend's ex) did this to one of my posts once and then messaged me immediately afterwards to politely acknowledge and apologise for doing so. Lol

Windbeneathmybingowings · 23/01/2023 23:09

Depends on his settings. If he has notifications that come through on the phone screen when locked, then yes it will have flashed. Taking it off will have removed the notification but not if he’s spotted it light up and then disappear.

if not then no, it’s entirely untraceable. No way of knowing either way tho.

pretty unlikely he saw it pop up unless he was looking at his phone that exact minute
.

whytesnow · 23/01/2023 23:10

I think it would

whytesnow · 23/01/2023 23:10

Why don't you test it out with your friend
