Am I ill, tired, old?

The last few weeks I have awful backache. Not like a injury, it just aches, and nausea. I wake up in the night feeling as if if only I could be sick, I'd feel better iykwim. It's worse at night, but still some nausea during the day too. Also burning eyes and headache. Otherwise I feel fine!

Some sort of virus or just age catching up with me ?(53!)

Kidney or urine infection? Had a relative had this recently and the backache and feeling sick all the time are symptoms of kidney/bladder infection (google it on the NHS website). Fine after a 3 day antibiotic course. But if you are not weeing lots perhaps not. Just a thought.

The backache is higher up, between my shoulder blades, although to one side?

Vitamin D deficiency?

Muscle aches and pains
Tiredness
Headaches
Nausea...

All symptoms I had when my levels were through the floor. I'd been taking a multi vitamin with D in when I was diagnosed, so didn't think it could possibly be that.

It could be a virus but I would be getting bloods and urine done op. Get your pancreas checked out, and gallbladder and liver.

But the eyes and headache? Maybe get a carbon monoxide monitor?

Any weight loss? What about alcohol intake?

Covid? The burning tired eyes and headache? I felt extremely nauseous with Covid as unlike people who lose their smell, everything smelt stronger to me and I felt headachey and sick for three months! Sorry.

I'm not a doctor so I won't guess any further, sounds horrible.

Interesting. Thinking about it, it started around the time I started taking vit D and folic acid

I have recently had a pretty full set of bloods done. Everything normal but folic acid and vit D at the lower end, hence the supplements. I hadn't made a possible link before.

No weight loss. I have a drink at the weekend about twice a month. Probably technically a binge drinker but not excessively so (maybe 3-4 pints of beer in an evening)

Last time l had Covid l had a desperate pain in my back ..up between my shoulder blades. Felt awful but went in a few days. Definitely worth checking.

RocketsMagnificent7 · 23/01/2023 19:34

Gallstones? When I had mine, all my pain was in my right shoulder blade and often woke me up during the night. I constantly felt nauseous. The headache/burning eyes could be from the disturbed sleep.
