Hi! Can anybody recommend accommodation for a family of 5 in Ipswich that won't break the bank, please? 2 adults, 3 DC ages 14, 11 & 9. For 1 night next month.

I have tried googling but no joy & also tried all the usual booking.com, Expedia etc but everything is either expensive or unavailable!

Thanks!

Have you looked at Premier Inn/Travelodge? There's a few on the outskirts and a couple in the centre down by the waterfront.

Definitely these.

You could also look at nearby towns - Stowmarket and the outskirts of Ipswich (there’s a Travelodge along the A140 which might be less busy but still good for driving into Ipswich).

If you’re coming via train you could look at any of the places along the Trainline - even Norwich is only about 40 mins away and lots of hotels etc around Norwich station if that’s any help!

I have looked at these, but unfortunately they would all require us to book 2 rooms. I should have said that we would all want to be in one room or interconnecting rooms, sorry. I think I may be asking the impossible though!

What are you doing in Ipswich, happy to help as know the town well but assuming you are heading there for a reason so would prefer to be closer to that

Ds1 has a trial with the football club so thought we'd make a little outing of it, if we can 😊

The Holiday Inn has Family rooms for 4... Maybe they would put an extra bed in? Here

Scalessayeek · 23/01/2023 20:39

I think you’ll be pushed to find one for 5 kids. You’d be best looking on the outskirts and booking the two rooms.

Have u checked on Air bnb?

BAdopter · 23/01/2023 20:53

If it's over a weekend you might be best looking at the nearby caravan parks to Ipswich. We did this for our large family and the parks etc onsite kept the kids entertained. Cost wise it was similar to 2 cheap hotel rooms, we just checked out early!

Yes that’s a good idea actually… Wild Duck at Haven might be an option.

Travellingraspberry · 23/01/2023 21:26

www.stonhambarns.co.uk/statics-to-hire/ this is 25 mins away which might be an option?

Jellybean23 · 23/01/2023 21:26

What about an airbnb for one night?

confusedofengland · 23/01/2023 21:38

Thank you, I'll have a look at all these options. Airbnb didn't seem to have anything for our dates, but I'll have another look.
