40 presents for 40th, how to ‘present’?

Husband’s 40th soon. I’ve gone with the 40 presents idea, know what I’m buying him, but no idea how to ‘present’ them!
40 days of gifts sounds like the novelty will quickly run out, 40 presents in one go sounds overwhelming. I don’t think he’d like a gift hunt.

Any suggestions gratefully received?!

I did this for my stepdaughters 16th and she broke into a cup each day that had a numbered to ticket in it ana she opened that gift.
very simple just some glue and crafting really but effective:)

@The6thQueen Fell free to borrow the idea, can be suited to any celebration. Not limited to birthdays. Mix the size up, add your own suggested fillings etc. make your own. Shop brought. very versatile.

Baguettes for days. Keep an eye on tik tok, you know it'll go viral 🙃

@The6thQueen I hope one of the 40 Bugatti's is a Lego one....

Could you do something similar to an advent calendar with a 40 day countdown to his birthday?

declutteringmymind · 23/01/2023 15:34

I'd wrap them up and put in a nice hamper and let him choose how he wants to open them. He might want to open them all, or space it out.

The6thQueen · 23/01/2023 15:34

@Needmorelego - I managed to get a good deal on some second hand ones from a guy called Andrew 😉

Why are people being mean? I'd love it if someone cared enough about me to plan and buy 40 presents! I'm single so I usually get one present from my mum and a pile of facebook messages from friends who know I don't bother going on facebook much anyway Sad
I think this is lovely and exciting! If I was organising it I would group the presents into themes of that fits. Like, if there are socks, T-shirt, grooming products, give them together when you are going out somewhere so he opens them and uses them to look good going out. Or food/drink gifts together for a night in. That sort of thing. And save any "big" presents for the actual birthday to keep it special.

Needmorelego · 23/01/2023 15:37

@The6thQueen ha ha....that took me a minute to get that joke 😂

midlifecrash · 23/01/2023 15:40

Tombola?

I hope that’s how you spell it, the spellcheck wants to make it Tom Nola.

if anyone wants to do this for me I will have a new drill and all the accessories can be separate presents, ta. The rest can be screws.

MarmaladeCrumpets · 23/01/2023 15:40

One a day on the run up to his birthday for a week. 26 on his birthday and one a day for a week after.

MarmaladeCrumpets · 23/01/2023 15:40

Or hide them all around the house in really obscure places and let him just find them all through his birthday month.

ohbabydontgopleasesstay · 23/01/2023 15:41

I would possibly do them over his "birthday week" leading up to his main present
Kind of like a weekly advent calendar
Starting with the novelty ones
Then the main ones

SeaToSki · 23/01/2023 16:00

Depending on what the gifts are, could you take a photo of each one and put them in a photo album, so he can flick through it and see all the gifts, then put all the actual gifts in a hamper/on a bookshelf in a room he doesnt often go into etc. The dc could decorate the album pages etc. Then you only have to wrap the album and it becomes 1 gift iyswim and he also has the album to look back on.

PinkPanther50 · 23/01/2023 16:09

For my daughters 21st I numbered them and put them in a basket

I wouldn't get sick of receiving a present every day for 40 days 🤣

The6thQueen · 23/01/2023 17:43

Glad to hear it @superdupernova, I think some folks enjoy being contrary 🤫

I think this is a great idea, my sister is 40 this year and every other week I’m sending her small things she needs through Amazon. I’ll so do this leading up to her birthday in June. 🫶🏼

Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBaby · 27/04/2023 09:44

10 at breakfast
10 at dinner time
10 at teatime
10 during the evening

Although providing I wasn't rushed and I could sit and enjoy it I could quite happily sit and open 40 presents in one sitting

2chocolateoranges · 27/04/2023 09:49

@The6thQueen my mum does this for big birthdays.I had 40 gifts for my 40th ranging from a small bottle of Prosecco, to earrings to sweets. It’s quite quirky and loved opening all those gifts.

she numbered them and put them all in a huge gift bag. The 40th gift was my main present.

TheFlis12345 · 27/04/2023 10:09

My mum gave me 40 gifts for my 40th and I loved it! They were all arranged wrapped on the dining table with a sheet over the top which she whisked off. They were all very thoughtful, some sentimental, some useful. Though I think she cheated slightly as she bought me a case of red wine and a case of white wine so those account for 12 gifts 😂They were much appreciated though!
