Just watching this morning and actress Charlie brooks is saying she’s invented a new hands free clitoral vibrator..”it’s never been done before!!”

Why do celebrities/rich people think they’ve invented the lightbulb when they have a bit of money in their back pocket to employ people and spin this crap?!

Anyone else get annoyed when celebrities pretend they come up with brand new businesses/ideas and lord it all over tv and SM? Same with Charlotte church and her ‘well-being house/business’.

I wouldn't say I get anywhere near as annoyed as you seem to be. It's a sigh and an eye roll moment for me. Unless you are the original inventor themselves then I can understand the rage.

How do you know there aren’t any differences between the two? She wouldn’t be able to go on the tv and say she invented it if there weren’t differences, she’s face a law suit. Have you bought hers? Not sure why it bothers you so much?

Is it any different to any other iteration of the millions of things you can buy from various businesses where the key points/function/appearance of a product are the same?

I imagine she's referring to the specific patent on it or a specific function of the technology that differs from another product, either way who cares.

As an aside if she's hawking a vibrator on daytime TV and trying to make out it's transformative for ones spiritual existence and self esteem, I don't imagine she is as rich as you'd assume.

Have you actually looked at the U collection? It looks very elegant and girly, but I won't be paying £100 for the main item (the vibrator).

So what? It happens on Mumsnet all the time. People hear someone using a quote that happens to be sometimes used on Mumsnet and people decide the person is a Mumsnetter because this is the only place the phrase could have come from. Ridiculous.

Why is ‘hands free’ a selling point anyway? Is it so you can do knitting or play cars cradle at the same time?
