I had an MRI of the jaw in November, it was part of the process to getting my recent diagnosis of chronic migraines (because they effect my face too)
Just before the scan I noticed I had a small, pea-size lump here just underneath my ear (see picture) but didn't think much of it. We'd recently had HFM in the house so I assumed it was a shotty node.
MRI of the jaw came back fine as expected, to rule out any internal derangement, no mention of anything else of concern being seen.
This morning whilst washing my face I realised the lump is still there, albeit a bit deeper under the surface than initially and you have to feel for it. The length of time it's been there is what im slighly concerned about. It looks red as I've been prodding a bit.
If it was something concerning, say a malignant lymph node or patroid tumour, do you think it would have been picked up and noted during the MRI?
I don't want to waste my GP's time if so, I only tend to go when I really really have to.
😊
