Help - weird migraine

helpyhelperton · 21/01/2023 18:20

I've had migraines for 25 years about 10 per month.

Only had aura about 3 times in all that time.

Got cut-glass aura in right eye about an hour ago, realised what it was - took sumatriptan immediately. Head started to get fuzzy but no pain. Aura has now returned, same eye?!

What should I do?

Take another sumatriptan and call it a night. Take a sleeping tablet or something to make you drowsy and just sleep.

Take a second sumatriptan. I hope it eases soon for you.

If you get some relief, or if the migraine comes back after being relieved, another dose may be taken 2 hours after the last dose. Do not take more than 200 mg in any 24-hour

I agree with following the protocol and taking another sumatriptan if that's what you have and what usually works.

I find it works best taken as early as possible and in conjuction with a couple of ibuprofen lysine, a coke and (ondansentron of I'm having sickness). I also find cooling gel packs really helpful and wrap one around the back of my neck, then one of my forehead or the affected side and try to lie quietly in the dark - preferable a short nap. Nothing else works and if I leave any of it too late, nothing works at all and they can last several days.

Hope it subsides soon OP, I also get around 10 a month and it's debilitating.
