Do you have an air fryer, Microwave and grill or just hob and microwave?
What sort of meals do they usually eat?

Jacket potatoes & beans is a meal and could just be done in a microwave.
Pasta & sauce of some description.
Omelette & wedges that have been part cooked in the microwave then shallow fried to finish off.
You can do fish fingers or sausages & wedges that way too.
Chicken and noodles in a sauce of some sort (chow mien, hoi sin or. Whatever)
Beans on toast
Spaghetti and meatballs

the other. ‘Mums’ site has some hob recipes but I don’t think I’m allowed to link.

Curries and chili's can be done on the hob. Spaghetti Bolognese.

Meats of all type can be pan fried with or without sauces.

I hardly use the oven unless it's a roast or a bake. Most meals are done on the hob and that includes fish fingers, sausages, bacon, chicken.

I don't really understand the problem, our oven is often out for weeks in Summer.

When our kitchen was being renovated and the oven & hob were not functional I used an electric frying pan, a bbq, a fire pit (despite it being January) and a slow cooker and managed to cook pretty much everything we wanted.

Fish cooks beautifully in the microwave, think about having plaice, lemon sole or salmon fillets with vegetable of choice cooked on the hob.

Spanish omelette, or risotto are usually cooked on the hob. So much depends on what other cooking appliances you have and just what your children will eat. Failing all that, have an indoor picnic with charcuterie and cheese.
