Can't view my Tax Credits online?

I called Tax Credits last week with a change of circumstances, DH has been awarded PIP. He has various medical conditions that have gradually degenerated over the years to the point that they have a significant impact on his day to day life, he needs support at various points in the day, and based on the evidence we provided of medical reports, claim form information, assessment appointment, etc they've agreed that he qualifies for it.

I rang Tax Credits to let them know (we get TCs as our two sons are disabled also, not the same condition as DH).

The advisor I spoke to was really rude. He asked me in a really sneery, sceptical voice "and he's still managing to work full time is he!?" I explained that yes, he is but he's been on and off sick leave for the last four years of both the short term and long term type and now mainly works from home as he finds it difficult to commute. He then asked if this "disability" puts him at serious disadvantage of getting a job and I said yes. He said "even though he's already got one? Where he's working full time?" (again, all said in a really sceptical tone). I said yes, if he left his current job he would be at serious disadvantage of getting another one as no employer is likely to take him on (he's lucky his current one is so supportive as many places would have probably managed him out on health grounds by now).

He audibly scoffed and I told him disabled people can work, that his employer has made adjustments that allow him to continue working, that he has various conditions that have reached a point where PIP is now a necessity, etc. He snapped at me that he had to make sure DH "satisfies the criteria for being considered disabled". I told him that PIP/DWP had already assessed him and found that DH does satisfy the criteria, that I had a letter confirming it, and that all he needs to do is record that. He told me he'd added it and then ended the call.

I rang back and spoke to someone else about it as I wasn't happy how he treated me. The person I spoke to was very sympathetic and advised me to make a complaint as the advisor shouldn't have said those things or spoken to me like that.

I went on today to check it's been updated correctly and I appear to be locked out of the online system, picture attached. Has anyone had this before? It's making me really paranoid that he's deliberately messed up my Tax Credits out of spite.

Mine showed that last year while the renewal was process. In the end I rang amd basically they had looked at it - and put it in the "too hard" pile. The advisor sorted it out over the phone, and they were back online the next day.

Give them a call next week.

Can I ask did you still receive payments as normal while this was happening?

No, they all stopped.

Mine was because of pension contributions (additional to employment ones), it happens every year - P60 figures should no entitlement, they stop paying until renewal is processed, but processing the renewal seems to go in the too difficult box until I ring up and tell them that yes, the pension figures I put on my renewal are correct. Then they start payment again. So I usually get my tax credit payments in April & then August - March.

Bugger. Hopefully that'll not the case here.

If this advisor has done something to my account I'm going to be kicking my complaint up a level 😤
