Do you still enjoy playing with children's toys?

I'm only asking as a friend of mine pointed out that she finds it odd that I still enjoy playing with toys.

I think I've played with dc Christmas toys more than they have Blush.

For example, ds had some jigsaws that we started together. He got bored and said I could finish them. So I did. These are puzzles aimed for under 10 year olds.

Dd has LEGO dots that I've asked her if I can play with in the evening. She will be messaging friends / watching a movie whilst I make pretty pictures and bracelets.

I'll happily look through a where's Wally book in my spare time.

Thoroughly enjoy mind puzzles like Rubix cube and mazes.

On my lunch break at work I play Roblox. I do find this embarrassing if a colleague asks what I'm playing. I often lie and say it's something I'm doing for dc.

Will also happily play on the games console with or without dc.

Is this a bit odd?

Not off at all, I love lego, marble run, play dough and kinetic sand, magnatiles and geomags. I work as a nanny so I have the perfect excuse to play with toys all day long and get paid for it!

Odd, not off!!!

I happily watch kids films.
Like if minions or something is on TV I will sit and watch the whole thing. I have an older teen.
I would happily play with playdoh or a dolls house, I never had one as a child.

DH could build Lego for hours.
Playing is not odd imo.

I dont think it's odd. Lots of adults play computer or consol games (myself included). I also totally get the where's wally thing as I have spent ages looking through them after the kids have wondered off Grin it's sad you feel this way because of other people.

I used to feel the same when I was younger about playing computer games. But then I just thought why am I hiding something I enjoy because other people don't do it?! Also a huge amount of adults build lego. The lego dots stuff is ace!

I love a good play kitchen, especially if it’s got plastic food which can be “cut” into pieces and then velcroed back together. I also occasionally, when I’m up there tidying or searching for something, end up having a quiet five minutes sit down in the loft with my old My Little Pony Dream Castle and comb a few manes.

DogeSos · 20/01/2023 22:37

I'm the same. I don't think it's odd.

I'm child free and have a dollhouse and numerous bears so no, I don't think it's odd 😁

Not odd. My kids don't have toys anymore as they're all practically grown-ups but I do miss the toys.

EspeciallyDetermined · 20/01/2023 22:48

I don't do any of those things apart from the occasional go with the Rubik cube (because I could do it in under a minute back in the 80s and despite still having my handwritten solution to it from back then can't do it at all now). I don't think it's odd though, we all like different things.

I didn't enjoy playing with children's toys when I was a child.

Another toy lover here.

I love the kids board games. Play doh machines are very relaxing! All sorts really.

AFOLs (Adult Fans of Lego) are a massive worldwide community. There's gazillions of us 🙂
I like jigsaws but my patience rarely goes above 150 pieces. I like sewing felt crafts but I get the ones from the children's section that have the holes pre made because I find those more relaxing.
If I had the money and space I would love to have dolls house or a Hornby train set (or both 😂).
I am the one who changes the clothes on the baby dolls. I get excited when I find a toy shop that has Barbie clothes reduced.
I like children's books too.
