Boyfriends birthday next week. I have a main gift for him but really struggling for fun extras.

Things I can't get

Alcohol
Sweets
Clothes including underwear
Aftershave

I got him items related to his hobby for Christmas so that's out and I also got him items for his home office / job

He's not into personal grooming or the likes and I'm out of ideas ...

Any help?

Additionally main gift was expensive so looking for items £20 or less ideally

Cinema Voucher, coffee Voucher, or would he use a thermos or a travel thermos coffee mug?
Scratch cards, favourite snacks?

LaTangerina · 20/01/2023 18:52

Nice coffee or tea if he likes them?
You sound very thoughtful I hope he enjoys his gifts!

Has the monthly cinema pass and doesn't drink coffee or a thermos would be great ....

Scratch cards could be a good back up though

Unfortunately he doesn't but thank you @LaTangerina

Some kind of puzzle or kit to make something?

A board game. Something like backgammon.
Decent chocolate.
Latest bestseller.
6 month magazine subscription.
Train ticket to a reasonably close city, and guide book, and have a day out together.

I bought my husband a self guide treasure hunt around one of our favourite local cities. Figured we love going anyway and it's a bit of a laugh and maybe see a few different things

Or a selection of nice cheese, crackers and chutneys.

chocolateisavegetable · 21/01/2023 08:31

Any books he’d enjoy?
A multi-tool
If he has a car, a set for washing it
Amazon voucher
Voucher for Nando’s / pizza place or similar
Does your nearest shopping centre do vouchers that can be used in multiple shops & restaurants

dancemom · 21/01/2023 09:12

Thank you for all the suggestions

He works with tools so has all the specialist items. He's diabetic so trying to avoid sweets / chocolate/ cheese. He got me a car set for Christmas and the problem with a voucher is that I know he would just spend it on me 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hmm... something new and interesting?

An axe throwing class? A board game? A ski lesson?

We tend to do weird stuff like that bc it's a bit of fun.
