Reasonably priced/cheap furniture

Hello

Wonder if anyone can help me replace my sofabed - appx 25 years old so a good one but bought at £300!

everything similar looks around £1000. Is that normal now?

it's an occasional bed and daily sofa. Needs to have arms, be a compact two seater.

also, I will need some compact storage and a wardrobe. Not 100% sure of needs but hoping Ikea isn't the only option? Any ready assembled places you might recommend?

thank you.

You could try gumtree if you don't mind secondhand.

they also have good price wardrobe

Look at their 'loft' range for other items you might need

The M&S stuff looks great, thank you.

I will try the BHF for the wardrobe. I like that loft one but I think the high rail might be too high for me, as a short arse.

this looks ideal for me but the only colour left is pink. Not sure I want that. Or will it be better than I imagine, if nothing else in the room is pink?

for background, I am moving from a small flat, mostly furnished with ancient stuff pinched from my parents decades ago, to an even smaller flat. There's no way it's going to look amazing, but I need a sofabed and storage. I would like to avoid the place looking like a garage sale this time 😂

at the mo, I just have an ordinary coffee table but a storage one would be ideal and the desk converting bit is a great addition.

is blush pink going to scream "I am pink" in a small room?

Actually, spilling tea on that fabric is a bit risky...hmmm...

PS was hoping for this kind of sofabed

maybe that just is the price range though?

We have the ikea gronlid sofa/sofa bed. It's incredibly comfortable as both a sofa and to sleep on; my MIL has a much more expensive one than that and I would rather sleep on the floor than spend another night on it.

I'd get the white one and dye it whatever colour I wanted - the covers come separately when it's delivered so you could chuck it in the wash with an in-wash dye before even setting it up.

The BHF is brilliant. The larger branches have huge storage areas which they might take you into if they think you're a serious buyer, where they have loads more stuff than just what's on display.

Most of our family have furnished properties from there over the years.

And their delivery is straightforward - they have a diary and a phone number for the driver and they come roughly when they say (allowing for traffic). None of that 'Thursday week between 7am and 10pm' nonsense.

And you're supporting a good cause.

I must admit, I was hoping Ikea sofabeds would be a bit cheaper.

Yes, I've heard very good things about the BHF.

still dithering over the coffee table/desk. Probably be gone by the time I decide. Such a shame there's no neutral colour left.
