Apple screen time restrictions

Am I missing something?
Until now DS has only been allowed his iPad at the weekend so I've had a daily time limit on his games.

Now he has to use an app for homework so I've tried to block his games for weekdays. I can't completely block them Mon-Fri as I have to put a time limit in. 1 minute is the lowest. Is there an option I'm missing?

You can allow certain apps 'anytime'

So they are accessible even on downtime.

I know that, but I don't want to do that - it's the opposite of what I want to do. I want to block all games Monday-Friday. I don't want to allow school apps all the time and force his ipad into downtime as I want him to be a or to contact me when I'm out.

How do you teach a school-hating, screen obsessed child with ASD to self regulate their screen usage and use their iPad to do homework and ignore the games?

There is a way to block certain apps through your Wi-Fi router. For example, if you Google 'how to block YouTube via Wi-Fi' or something like that, you get the instructions. My sons school does that, so they can't access YouTube when at school (and I am seriously considering setting this up at home, too )
