How to get rid of that bastard Yahoo?

How do I get rid of this completely - I do the going into settings and deleting it from my search engines, I do the reset and clean up move, it isn't identifiable as any of my very few extensions....

My google searches keep reverting to Yahoo. Reset and clean up can get rid of it for a few hours, but it always comes back

I hate it so much

Instead of deleting it from your history, you need to change your settings so that when opening a new window or tab, the default page is Google (or whatever you want it to be).

What browser are you using?

I am using Chrome,

My default is set to "Google" and I am not deleting Yahoo from my history, ( I dont think) - I am deleting it as an option from my list of search engines.

But this bastard Yahoo that I hate just keeps coming back!

any suggestions welcome

For Chrome, go into settings then choose appearance and make sure the options in this screenshot are correct:

ok @IamSmarticus thank you - this is something new I haven't tried before. But sadly no, I have just tried that now, and I am still reverting to Bastard Yahoo 😡😩

when I open a new tab, I get the google title page. When I put any term in the search bar and press return, I get a quick flash of the google search results, then in reverts to Bastard Yahoo. If I press the back button, I get back to the google title page, so I cant access google search at all

yes, I have done that. thank you Yahoo isn't normally on that list, but if it ever is, deleting it doesn't make any difference
