Anyone else going to try for Madonna tickets?

I am!

It's been ages since I bought tickets for something like this. I'm assuming I just refresh ticket master and keep trying to buy 4 tickets.

How much do you think they'll cost..I know they're advertising £50 tickets, but that's for the really high up seats and I don't want them.

Slightly nervous and ready to be disappointed!

I wish they’d say all the prices before they go on sale, it’s not really fair because I guess people decide they want to go then get caught up in trying no matter the price.

I thought about it but not going to, might keep an eye on resales nearer the time.

JustWantedACat · 20/01/2023 09:02

I'd imagine they would be much higher than £50! I saw her in 2006 at Wembley Arena and recall paying around £120 and was right on the very back row.

JuneOsborne · 20/01/2023 09:35

Oh, I know they'll be way more than £50. I'm setting a max budget of £250 per ticket.

And yeah, it's horrible not knowing what tickets cost what.

I saw a photo from
o2 priority sale, they had some for £45 going right up to about £1500 BUT from what I read (on Twitter) they’re using dynamic pricing so the price changes depending on availability so the £45ish tickets went up to £90 something and the £1500 tickets went up to then£3000’s!!

I'm not a fan so not bothered but I saw this on Twitter.🤯

I saw her at Wembley in 1997 what a great show, I don't know what the tickets cost then as our neighbour worked in the Police force and they used to get some free tickets and he had one spare and he took me with his family as it was my 16th birthday.

stayathomer · 20/01/2023 09:50

Another who saw her in the 00s and it was the most expensive ticket I’ve ever bought at 120 euro. I’ve heard these are going to be insane prices, such a pity people are being priced out of going to concerts now- I’m thinking you Harry Styles!!!

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 20/01/2023 10:22

Disgusting that she can charge so much. Pure greed.

JuneOsborne · 20/01/2023 10:22

Got in, all sold.

Gutted.

I saw her in 97 too. It was amazing.

Having been a massive fan and seen Madonna previously I was so excited to see her again. Paid over £200 to see her at the Millennium Stadium- it was so disappointing. She was barely on stage, mostly just young dancers whilst she made multiple costume changes. She was hours late - had a massive interval between her and the support act. Plus the seating was poor because the stage was poorly positioned.
went to see Prince a couple of months later at the O2 paid £30 most amazing performance I’ve ever attended. The contrast was huge. Agree the ticket prices are pure greed nothing about the life of performance.

Yes based on her last tour, I wouldn't be rushing to buy a ticket. I have to say I'm unconvinced the concerts will go ahead - she's not looked altogether <ahem> "well" on receiving media posts.

megletthesecond · 20/01/2023 10:35

I don't think she'll manage the whole tour sadly. She was pretty unreliable last time.

Blonde Ambition was only £20 and you could sit or stand where you liked. I'm glad I saw her years ago.

Whatsthisthing · 20/01/2023 10:40

I got two in the early release on Wednesday, paid £306 for two. Very excited!

Yes I saw the Prince gigs at the O2,4 in total as he charged £31.21 for tickets (his album title at the time). He did it for his fans(he didn't like the word fan as short for fanatic) and the love of performing. Madonna could learn a thing or 2 about that.

I saw her on the Blonde Ambition tour, I can't imagine it getting any better than that. Anyway, I wouldn't know any of her recent music but she puts on an amazing show and is well worth seeing.

GargleGargoyle · 20/01/2023 10:55

I won't ever go to another of her gigs. Went to see her years ago in Cardiff and she rocked up an hour and a half late. She was loudly booed when she finally did show.

She was a tiny dot in the distance and her performance was underwhelming. It was not long after her break up with Guy and she wittered on about that a fair bit.

I paid a small fortune that I could ill afford at the time, including an overnight stay in Cardiff. My friends and I still talk about how awful it was and would definitely not pay to see her again.

beguilingeyes · 20/01/2023 11:01

Not for me but ticket prices are scary. We've got three 'you have to go because it's probably your last chance' concerts this year, the most expensive of which was Peter Gabriel at £195 each.
Just glad I'm not a Springsteen fan...a friend was offered two for £1500.

Paying £199 for Platinum tickets and front row for Barbra Streisand in 2019 is starting to seem like a bargain.

mrstea301 · 20/01/2023 11:02

I saw Madonna at Murrayfield a few years ago and she was awful! Didn't play any of the classics, did loads of costume changes etc. a crowd of us ended up getting free tickets ( there were loads of competitions run prior to the gig and mysteriously everyone who entered, won!) so obviously they hadn't sold out and didn't want the stadium to be half empty.

When we were on the train to Edinburgh there was a load of virgin cabin crew who were singing all of her songs, and they honestly have a better show than she did!

rookiemere · 20/01/2023 11:03

Festivals are much better value. Paid £150 for Sting one night and Lionel Ritchie the next night at the Lytham festival. Trying to find someone to go with me on the Wednesday night to see Jamiroquai at £60.

WineNoMore20 · 20/01/2023 12:27

Yes they truly were for the Fams- don’t know which ones you attend, one I was at Elton John happened to be in the audience and he got on stage and duetted with Prince. After the official
finish and when the stadium was almost empty Prince came back out and sat Jammimg to those of us left only about 100 or so. It was truly incredible. A true musical legend!

WineNoMore20 · 20/01/2023 12:28

Same one I think . Truly abysmal

GargleGargoyle · 20/01/2023 16:06

Aw sounds amazing I would love to have seen Prince!

mrstea301 · 20/01/2023 16:14

Prince was absolutely amazing live - one of the only gigs where if I'd had the chance, I'd have paid the same money again to go the next night to see him again!

Amazing show, he played every instrument you could think of, and looked absolutely amazing while doing so. He honestly looked about 24 - I looked up his age afterwards and he was 55!

Nearly everyone was wearing purple, the venue was all lit in purple and they had asked people not to bring cameras or use their phones while the gig was on, and had staff circulating through the crowd to ask people to put their phones away. Made such a huge difference to the show!!
