Stomach bug without symptoms?

I appreciate that this doesn't actually matter, it's more a general wondering.

Last night DH came over very suddenly weak, shivery, chills etc and then was sick a few times throughout the night. I figured just a stomach bug but thought it was a bit strange as he wfh and this week has only really seen me and DDs (3.5, and 8 months).
Then it turns out that MIL and FIL both had exactly the same yesterday afternoon/evening as well.
They care for DDs on Tuesdays but apart from a very mild cold, both DDs are fine, haven't been ill. The only thing was when they dropped DDs back Tuesday evening they mentioned DD2 had had quite a few dirty nappies, but nothing that made us think she had a bug but maybe she did.

DH is still lying down feeling too ill to get up - I should say, he never gets ill, and when he does he generally is the type to carry on regardless so he must be feeling awful.

As I said, I know it doesn't matter and it's just a bug, but I was wondering - does it sound like they all caught the same thing from DD? And if they did, is it common for something like a stomach bug to really wipe out three adults but barely make any noticeable difference to a baby despite her being contagious enough to spread it around? I'd have thought she would be the most ill! I'm hoping they did catch it from her, so I don't need to worry about her catching it from them.
