What bras do you wear for the best shapes

This could go in style and beauty I suppose but as I'm 60 it's more what can I do to not look like Baba Yaga.
I wear Miss Mary of Sweden although I find it comes up a bit small and also the infamous Doreen.
Doreen is not glamorous and I wouldn't want to be taken in to A&E in it but the shape under clothes is beyond fantastic. It supports anything.
I don't wear plunging necklines because crepey chest.
What do other middle ages women wear?

I used to wear Doreen (even in my thirties) but now I wear an non wired cross over bra and find them very supportive (I don’t live in the UK so no help as to an actual brand)

Tamarindtree · 20/01/2023 08:14

I had an epithany a few years ago and started wearing crop top style ones as they are so comfortable.

A second vote for Tamarindtrees post...
Those M+S ones are revolutionary... they are incredibly comnfortable AND supportive! I have thrown out all my wired bras and just wear those. (I'm 55 for reference) I was surprised to find they give me a really nice shape, and the matching pants are also very very comfy!

Are those crop top ones any good if you're somewhat generous in the boob department?

GlassBunion · 20/01/2023 08:32

Yep, another supportive crop top wearer here.
Can't remember when I last wore a proper bra.

It really is liberating.

CherryogDog · 20/01/2023 08:35

I haven't tried the M&S crop top bras, but any I have had either fit my back and squash my boobs, or fit my boobs but the back's too big.

Foxywood · 20/01/2023 08:44

What size do you recommending the crop top ones normally wear?

Yiayoula · 20/01/2023 08:48

Freya Idol, or Panache Envy - supportive, very comfortable and a good range of colours.

Xrays · 20/01/2023 08:50

I’m middle aged and wear crop top type ones - either from Primark or Tu at Sainsburys. I’m quite large of boob (34GG) but just can’t be doing with wearing anything uncomfortable anymore. Being honest crop tops do flatten me but I’d rather that than have wires etc digging in. I think the younger generation don’t care about having perky boobs anymore like we did. My dd is 19 and none of her friends - no matter if they’re an A cup or an H cup - wear bras. If they do wear anything it’s just a stretchy crop top. My dd doesn’t even own a bra which I find so weird as when I was her age it was all about chicken fillet pads and wonderbras!

This is what I need in my life. I'm a similar size to you and bras are the bane of my life. I just want something comfy and supportive. Are the crop top things in Tu, Primark etc sized the same way normal bras are? Or are they just small, medium, large and so on? I can't work out what size I'd need in the M&S ones linked above!

Bluevelvetsofa · 20/01/2023 09:03

Get fitted at Rigby and Peller and pay lots for a really well fitting bra that will last for ages.

Bestcatmum · 20/01/2023 09:05

I have tried the crop tops but they are only really suitable for days at home wearing baggy tops. If I went to work in one I think I'd get some looks.

Not sure if it helps but I’m a 16-18 in clothes usually and wear a large in the primark ones. To some degree it’s trial and error. I find I like them a little snug and tight as they are more supportive that way.

wibblewobbleball · 20/01/2023 09:54

I wear balcony styles for a well rounded and uplifted shape, t shirt bras for a more subtle supported and smooth look, and I've got large boobs so crop tops are a no for me if I want good shape!

Seeline · 20/01/2023 09:57

The most important thing is to wear the correct size.

When did you last measure OP?
Are you relying on M&S fitting because if you are, you're unlikely to be wearing the correct size.

pinkerseal · 20/01/2023 10:03

Fantasie side support bras. I'm 32FF and give good uplift.

Season0fTheWitch · 20/01/2023 10:09

I wear the La Redoute recycled lace bralettes for comfort and their recycled full cup for every day.

I'm a 32E but wear a 34DD in these, and they're perfect. The bralette is great for breastfeeding too

xogossipgirlxo · 20/01/2023 10:12

Any plunge bra for me. I love those from bravissimo. Some M&S are good too, although I find Bravissimo brands more comfortable.

Ditto, and I'm that size too. No other bra comes close. Once you know your size you can get them on ebay at a better price. I wish they did more pale coloured styles but other than that they're absolute perfection for the middle aged larger bust. Sorry I'm talking like my granny now 🤣

Flowersonthewall123 · 20/01/2023 10:21

I recently found curvy Kate and their standard bra was great. Definitely a much better fit than other I tried and kept the ladies more up lifted
