Application for pip wanting to cancel

Foreverboymumma · 20/01/2023 02:20

The stress and worry just waiting is making me just want to cancel my whole claim.
im in my own head! ‘I don’t need it, there’s worse people than me’ I don’t have the strength to dispute it if they decline me.. is it just as simple as calling up and cancelling my claim?

I wouldn’t cancel it. You have nothing to lose at by letting it play out. They might even assess you ‘on the papers’ or via a phone call.

I know it’s stressful. I help with claims for a couple of extended family who need PIP, and it’s a difficult process, I do agree.

Show yourself some compassion. Please don’t get caught up in the “there’s people worse off than me” bullshit. It’s toxic and counterproductive. There’s also people probably better off than you applying too.

A broken arm doesn’t stop hurting because you know someone who’s had theirs ripped off. You can complain about a sore eye even though someone has lost theirs. Pain and suffering is relative to you. Nothing else applies.

Please don't cancel. It is a crazy situation with all of the hoops you've to go through but as pp said you might not need a f2f appointment. You've nothing to lose by just seeing how it goes and potentially a lot to gain.
Depending on your illness you might get a "minimum of 10 years" award.
Also, depending on your age you might be eligible to apply for pension credits rather than pip.
Ask for help with your application if you are struggling.
Good luck op.

It’s a very difficult process, but don’t cancel it OP, quite standard to be fobbed off initially, see the process through till the end. Good luck.
