Where to park to then get the tube into London

Off to London in a few weeks for 48 hours - Friday to Sunday. Coming from the west, along the M4. Can anyone recommend somewhere where we can park the car for two nights and then get a tube the rest of the way in? Years ago we parked at Westfield but I think the congestion zone has been extended and we'd now get charged for driving that far into London. Trying to keep costs down as much as possible and think this will be the cheapest option.

Reading, and get on the Elizabeth line.

(Or any other stop on that line)

I haven’t done it since 2019, but I used to park and go in on the Piccadilly line from Osterley. Good car park, not busy at the weekends when I used to use it, and right on the edge of the congestion zone (then - it might have changed now). I suspect with so much working from home now that Friday will be quite quiet there, too.

Reading train station? Is that reasonable priced parking?

@YourGazeHitsTheSideOfMyFace
Thanks I'll take a look at the zones for that area

No the congestion zone hasn't been extended but there is now a ULEZ in addition. Unless your car is diesel, it's probably ULEZ compliant.

You can look it up on the TfL website

Another vote for Osterley tube station and get the Piccadilly line, especially if you’re coming up the M4.

We park at the ncp at Richmond station as just outside the ulez zone then you can get the overland to Waterloo or the tube

West Hounslow carpark, by the tube station seemed alright - went at Christmas just gone.
