Nurseries and Ofsted - how long till report comes?

DS' nursery had an unannounced Ofsted inspection today, I've been having a look at their website and I can't see anything on how long it usually takes to issue the report? Just that it needs to be published within ten days of the setting receiving it.

Does anyone know how long Ofsted take to turn around nursery reports?

I'm not really worried about the nursery, I like them, but I'll be interested in what an inspection finds, and I think it may have been prompted by a complaint as it was an unannounced inspection

Recently, for nursery inspections around here, it's been taking about 5-6 weeks from the date of inspection for the report to be published. This is longer than it used to take a few years ago, I'm pretty sure.

Oh really? Thank you! I thought it might be more like a week - will not worry about it for a bit then! Presumably if there were serious concerns they'd act more quickly?

DDs nursery was inspected in Nov/Dec time and the report has been published this week. We were told the findings sooner though.They had a phonecall about the inspection the day before.

Thanks Hall84 - do you remember when you were told the outcome if it was beforehand?

Ours didn't get the phone call the day before, and I know someone who's recently withdrawn their child because they were unhappy, so I wonder if she's made a complaint

I spoke to the inspector as they asked for parental input who didn't give much away. I think they got the rating before Christmas with full report to follow.
