Just wondering when other people got their sons first haircut. My Lb is 13 months and although his hair is not thick yet it looks a bit shaggy at the back so was thinking a small scissor cut would be ok. It this too young.

He’ll be squirmy, but otherwise why would he be too young?

Go to a specialist children's salon. Baby will probably protest but the staff will be well used to it. Baby will sit in an aeroplane seat with Peppa pig on in the background or you can hold them and it will be done soon enough.

My gorgeous little nephew, who is the most placid and pleasant child screams the place down for his haircuts (15mo). It’s like he’s being tortured. I went with SIL as backup. Take another person in case he protests too much.

My DS1 had his first haircut at 8 weeks old, very hairy baby. There is no such thing as too young. He may not like it much, but it shouldn't take long.

I always cut my children’s hair. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube if you want to do layers but when they are little it’s very easy to do.
