Woke up with a numb lip for a few seconds? What could it be?

I’m a worrier, so now I can’t go back to sleep.

plus I googled and everything looks scary. I woke up with a numb bottom lip for a couple of seconds then the feeling came back really fast. What happened?!

You were biting your lip in your sleep, or sleeping with pressure on a facial nerve that was relieved when you woke up. You don't have MS, herpes or mouth cancer. Stop googling every random weird thing your body does if you have health anxiety, Google will pull up all the worst case scenarios and miss off the "but 99.9% of the time you fell asleep pressing on a facial nerve".

Thanks both. I haven’t slept and now I had to get up with the kids before work but I feel a bit better, it hasn’t happened since and I can’t see anything out of the ordinary. DP said he’ll watch the kids while have a nap when he gets home from work to catch up so alls well ends well!

I hate anxiety 🫠

Ahhh well enjoy the nap this evening! Anxiety sucks. I’ve been up most of the night too, I have been far too overzealous with the thermometer on my youngest whose had a fever last night!
