Explaining how babies are made

My 7 year old is starting to ask questions about how babies are made. Is there a good video on YouTube/ good book that we could look at together to start the discussion? I’m just not quite sure where to start.
thank you xxxxxx

Take her to the farm, watch animals mating and explain it.

Do it in a really deadpan, factual way: Oh look! The male sheep is putting his penis into the female sheep's vagina. He's going to squirt some stuff called semen into her. In the semen here are things called sperms....*

NB
Use ovum not egg cos it causes confusion.
Babies do not grow in their mummy's tummies - that's where the food goes. Babies grow in their mummy's uteruses.

  • Actually you're too late for this year's sheep breeding season!

** I assume you already know this stuff.
